Milton College

Our History

Milton College was originally founded in Hong Kong in 1932 as a branch of the then Milton University. Following this, Milton Institute in Taipei, Taiwan was established in 1949 and is still teaching English to this day. It was in 1990 that Milton Sydney was established and it is now accredited with NEAS and is a member of the ELICOS Association.

Milton is a rapidly growing school nestled in the heart of the North Sydney business district. We have recently expanded to incorporate a second campus, also located in North Sydney. This campus houses both the High School Preparation program and the IELTS program. The growth in number of students at Milton is mainly due to its strong educational values in offering the best education with the best teachers available.

1.	We have 25 hours of face-to-face teaching per week (full time). Students also have the option of self-study after classes with access to over 1,000 resource books.

2.	All the teachers at Milton College are fully qualified with Bachelor degrees and TESOL certificates and are experienced English teachers. Some of our teachers also have Master degrees and PhD’s.

3.	Milton offers a wide range of courses including General English, IELTS, EAP, TOEIC, TESOL, TECSOL, High School Preparation and FCE.

4.	At Milton we cater for every level of English, from absolute Beginner to Advanced. We have seven different levels in our General English program.

Students learning at Milton

Milton College has a free Academic Counselling Program. Students can speak to the Milton College Academic Counsellor to find out more information about further study in Australia. The Academic Counsellor speaks to each student individually and assists students to choose what they want to study after they finish at Milton College.

The Academic Counsellor:
- Will help you decide what you want to study
- Will help you understand the different study options that are available
- Will explain the requirements of each course
- Will explain how to apply for University/TAFE/College
- Will describe the various direct entry pathways that are possible for Milton College students.

6.	We have students from a range of countries including Slovakia, Poland, Korea, Japan, Czech Republic, Brazil, Thailand and China. This means that students must use English in the classroom, and it also gives them the opportunity to make friends from all over the world.

7.	Milton has modern facilities. Both campuses are new and include fully equipped kitchens, common rooms for the students to eat and socialise and there is a computer room with free internet access.
