Welcome to the SACE Colleges
|
|
|
Welcome to Adelaide and the South Australian College of English.
In a city renowned for it educational excellence, SACE is Adelaide's oldest independent
English language school.
Our students represent a diverse range of nationalities from some 25 countries and
are attracted by our wide selection of quality courses and exciting social programs.
As Directors of SACE Colleges we are pleased to announce we have opened a new branch in Hobart, Tasmania, called the Tasmanian College of English (SACE Hobart). SACE Hobart offers a similar range of English language programs as SACE Adelaide.
We look forward to introducing you to Adelaide and the natural beauty and wildlife
of South Australia and the Great Australian Outback, and to Hobart, Tasmania, Australia's
Wilderness State. |

Teaching Methods
|
|
|
|
|
Our aim is to help you communicate in English as quickly and efficiently as possible.
The courses are designed to develop speaking, listening, reading and writing skills
and are carefully structured to improve your fluency and accuracy.
Supplementing classroom text books, we use television and radio programs, newspaper
and magazine extracts, guest speakers and class excursions to give an essential "real
life" perspective of the English language at work. |
|
Classroom activities encourage communication. Our English In The Community
Programs, plus our links with educational and community organisations provide practical
language opportunities.
The SACE Teacher Training Division conducts regular teacher training seminars,
guaranteeing teaching methods are up-to-date and of the highest quality. |

International Reputation
|
|
|
Established and accredited in 1987, SACE is proud of its worldwide reputation.
While providing language courses of exceptional quality, the College is equally committed
to offering an enjoyable social and cultural experience.
Our professional, highly skilled teaching staff are carefully chosen for their
ability to engage students in a stimulating, full learning environment. They are
cheerful, friendly and caring.
The broad range of English programs available, combined with the opportunity
to mix and match courses to suit individual needs, increasingly draws students from
throughout Asia, Europe, South America, North Africa and other regions.
SACE Colleges are also recognised for providing teacher training courses for native
and non-native English language students. |
|
Located in one of Adelaide's most impressive historic building, SACE Adelaide
has spacious air-conditioned classrooms, a computer and self-access study centre,
student common room complete with kitchen and a theatre for social occasions.
SACE Hobart is housed in a gracious three-story Heritage building, surrounded
by magnificent gardens. Classrooms are small and cosy, heated by a wood-fired furnace
in the wintertime; the student common room is large and includes a fully equipped
kitchen, and a balcony overlooking the garden.
Both campuses are situated close to the cultural heart of the city, within
easy walking distance of public transport, university, art centre, state library,
as well as shopping malls, cafes, banks and cinemas. Nearby parklands and gardens
are an attractive setting for College sport and picnics. |
